Job Summary

The ECMO Specialist provides critical care assistance to patients receiving ECLS therapy within our customer facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of ECLS principles, mechanical circulatory support, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Provide continuous monitoring of ECLS patients and circuits
    • Adjust ECLS blood flow and sweep gas flow according to established guidelines or physician orders
    • Recommend changes to patient management based on relevant patient data and changing patient status
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with ECLS physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
    • Communicate effectively with hospital staff, patients, and families to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Document patient care and treatment in accordance with hospital guidelines
    • Report any irregularities or concerns to ECLS physicians or advanced practice providers
  • Training and Development
    • Participate in ECLS education modules, wet labs, and hands-on circuit training to develop skills and knowledge
    • Complete competencies on ECLS equipment and ancillary tools
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or Associate degree with 2-3 years of related Critical Care &/or ECLS experience)
    • Unencumbered professional license (RN, RRT, CCP)
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong understanding of ECLS principles and mechanical circulatory support
    • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to stand, walk, see, hear, read, speak, and write for prolonged periods
    • Ability to lift and move patients of any weight or size with assistance
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive compensation ranging from $62.50 to $91.66 per hour, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
