Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Supervisor to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Performance Evaluation and Development: Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Department Operations: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective management of staff and equipment.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and services.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to staff on new procedures, technologies, and best practices, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 4 years of clinical experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, with a minimum of 3 years in a pediatric specialty.
  • Certifications: Current Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist, Current registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
  • Training: Completion of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation training with 1-2 years of clinical experience as an Associate ECMO Specialist.
