Reporting directly to the Director of Campus Safety, the Campus Security Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the security personnel at the College, ensuring a secure environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position entails the strategic planning, organization, and daily management of all security department activities, operating continuously throughout the week.
Compensation: $64,500.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide security officers across all College facilities.
- Coordinate and respond effectively to emergency situations on campus.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of College emergency protocols.
- Assist the Director of Campus Safety in developing and executing departmental security and life safety procedures.
- Help formulate and implement strategies for crowd management, evacuations, fire emergencies, and other critical incidents.
- Conduct training sessions for the security team.
- Ensure adherence to College policies and regulations.
- Carry out investigations as necessary.
- Assist in managing the College's lock and key system.
- Collaborate with facilities and environmental health teams regarding safety concerns.
- Monitor campus safety and security conditions.
- Review and verify reports for accuracy, conducting follow-ups as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Oversee security scheduling and attendance records.
- Evaluate the performance of security personnel.
- Exhibit reliability and trustworthiness in all duties.
- Willingness to travel between various locations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in college security is preferred.
- Prior experience in law enforcement is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM.
- Ability to thrive in a student-focused campus environment.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of emergency management and response planning.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations applicable to educational institutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of technology and computer applications.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications.
- Understanding of fire protection and life safety codes.
- Knowledge of electronic security systems operations.
- Flexibility in work schedules to accommodate College needs.
- Capability to make informed decisions during emergencies.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
