POSITION SUMMARY:
We are in search of an Operations Supervisor to manage our 17 Building and Coating Kitchen/Preparation sectors.
The primary objective of this role is to proficiently lead and ensure operational excellence by establishing standardized, easily observable metrics for all critical deliverables, enhancing efficiency through disciplined execution of defined initiatives, and fostering a culture that aligns with our core values, thereby maximizing the potential of our workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizational Development (20%)
Guide the Appvion 17 Coater Building and Coating Preparation operations team to achieve 'meets or exceeds' performance ratings for all objectives.
Recruit and/or cultivate high-performing individuals who are dedicated to delivering results as outlined in the annual operational strategy.
Collaborate effectively with all cross-functional teams to optimize success and enhance operational expertise across the organization (Commercial, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Maintenance, R&D, & Technical).
Operational Excellence (60%)
Assume complete ownership and responsibility for all facets of the Area.
Effectively oversee and be accountable for the site's annual operational goals concerning safety, cleanliness, quality, service, efficiency, uptime, waste, and manufacturing costs.
Develop and communicate clear metrics for Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, Waste, and Cleanliness.Make metrics and initiatives easily visible by creating informational tools that aid in understanding and awareness throughout the organization.
Administer, communicate, and support our annual Safety, Wellness, and Recognition initiatives and establish and communicate by the start of each year.
Provide leadership and guidance to the 17 Building & Coating Preparation safety Advocates to promote floor-level safety initiatives and training enhancements.
With Finance support, establish and implement an annual operational budget targeting a significant improvement in efficiency, waste, and operational costs.
Enhance our communication strategies by consistently leading Glass Walls, conducting plant communication meetings, and supporting efforts to improve our communication effectiveness, as evaluated by our annual employee feedback.
Support the implementation of D365, ensuring sustainable processes.Capital Budget/Project Execution (20%)
Ensure all site-approved capital projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet expected returns.
Establish and manage a pipeline of improvement projects that identifies our productivity and waste reduction initiatives by the end of each year.
The pipeline must clearly outline the project scope, execution plan, annual savings projections, and timeline for completion.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
3 to 5 years of experience in coating or paper production is preferred, but not mandatory.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask
Proficient in computer applications
Prior experience with systems and continuous improvement methodologies

This position is fully onsite and operates between standard business hours, Monday through Friday. The schedule may vary based on operational needs.
