Job Summary

As a Shift Operations Manager at Archer Daniels Midland Company, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our plant, ensuring the production of high-quality corn products that meet customer needs and provide value to shareholders. You will be the key point of contact for safety and compliance, working closely with plant leadership to ensure adherence to all state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day plant operations, including regular inspections and oversight to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
  • Collaborate with Plant Superintendents and Department Superintendents to support Continuous Improvement activities and drive process excellence.
  • Ensure timely completion of Incident Investigation Reports and maintain a proactive approach to environmental compliance and quality issues.
  • Mentor and develop Shift Supervisors and operators, providing input on hourly shift personnel and feedback to Department Superintendents on performance.
  • Provide decision-making support in all areas of plant operations, including maintenance and personnel management, in the absence of dayshift leadership.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance resources and activities, working closely with maintenance management to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Participate in special projects and assist Department Superintendents with project work, as assigned by Plant Leadership.
  • Serve as the main contact for security issues and analyze information to solve production problems, choosing the best solutions.
  • Direct oversight of rail switching activities and indirect oversight of contractors working in the facility.
  • Work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and serve as the incident commander in the event of a plant emergency.
Requirements
  • Previous experience managing people and production processes.
  • ADM safety orientation and ongoing OSHA required plant safety training.
  • Basic knowledge of process equipment.
