Support Services Specialist, SWASHLOCK Program, is a vital role at The People Concern. This position ensures the smooth operation of SWASHLOCK services, including shower, laundry, and locker facilities. The Support Services Specialist serves as the first point of contact for clients, providing essential information and assisting with daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Meet and greet clients, providing a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring they understand program components.
  2. Provide accurate information regarding Access Center & SWASHLOCK services and hours of operation.
  3. Sign up participants daily for showers, laundry, and lockers, maintaining confidentiality.
  4. Assist with printing sign-in sheets for showers, lockers, and laundry services.
  5. Provide daily sign-up sheets to The Swashlock Coordinator or Supervisor for proper recording of daily stats.
  6. Keep SWASHLOCK showers, bathrooms, and laundry area clean during hours of operation, emptying trash as needed.
  7. Ensure all towels are washed, dried, and folded neatly on the towel rack in a timely manner.
  8. Assist with locker intakes, discharges, and clearing lockers as needed.
  9. Keep the locker area orderly, ensuring clients keep lockers clean and free from prohibited items.
  10. Responsible for distributing towels, toiletries, essential items, and clothing if needed, and assist with restocking hygiene items.
  11. Report all incidents and any repair needs to the Swashlock Coordinator and supervisor.
  12. Engage clients into the case management process by effectively building trust and credibility, screening requests, and directing clients appropriately.
  13. Assist staff in maintaining order and a smooth flow of services throughout the day.
  14. Develop rapport and assist weekend feeding groups, collaborators, and volunteers.
  15. Monitor and oversee client bathrooms, showers, and Laundry services area to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.
  16. Assist in maintaining the Swashlock office, ensuring a clean, organized, and clutter-free work space.
  17. Provide crisis intervention using Trauma-Informed Care and non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
  18. Communicate with the supervisor on a daily basis to report issues, concerns, suggestions, and successes.
  19. Assist with daily operation of the facility as needed, including general cleaning duties.
  20. Document all Program-related issues, concerns appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  21. Attend all staff meetings, team meetings, trainings, and retreats as scheduled.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
