Compensation: Competitive Salary + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:- Calculate and maintain standard costs associated with overhead elements such as freight and duties, ensuring accuracy in factory and subcomponent costs.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of inventory subledger to the general ledger, investigating and adjusting variances as necessary.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for all balance sheet and profit & loss accounts affected by the inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) cycle.
- Manage reserves for excess, discontinued, and obsolete inventory.
- Validate and document results from periodic inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory assessments.
- Collaborate with product development and supply chain teams to ensure thorough cost, price, and margin analysis for new inventory items.
- Develop and maintain a pricing analysis model based on cost evaluations.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly royalty reports and remittances, ensuring proper accounting for new license agreements.
- Calculate and submit all duty drawback claims and assist legal counsel with duty protest claims.
- Analyze month-end margins, focusing on variances due to cost fluctuations, product mix changes, and customer mix variations.
- Assist in the formulation of the annual budget and semiannual reforecasts.
- Enhance reporting tools within ERP and Business Intelligence systems to analyze gross margins by product, customer, region, and sales representative.
- Familiarity with Great Plains ERP system is advantageous.
- Engage in additional projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the consumer product or retail sector.
- Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables and V-lookups) and other Microsoft Office applications.
