The Project Management Teams at Aramco Services Company are dedicated to delivering top-tier capital projects. These teams play a crucial role in the execution and oversight of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and adhering to the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

The primary responsibility involves the engineering design, procurement, and construction of projects ranging from small initiatives to large-scale multi-billion-dollar ventures.

The Project Management Team typically manages and executes projects from various site offices or engineering contractor design offices, which are spread across different regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement capital projects in alignment with defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct intricate technical and administrative tasks related to the design and coordination of specialized controls and instrumentation systems.
  • Provide technical insights and review the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of facilities.
  • Address technical challenges that arise during all phases of project development concerning Instrumentation and Process Control aspects.
  • Oversee project development activities, including engineering studies, technical bid evaluations, preliminary engineering, detailed designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, and startup.
  • Review and contribute to the Functional Specification for Process Control Systems and Field Instrumentation, ensuring compliance with Aramco standards.
  • Manage design contractor activities during the development of Pre-FEED and FEED, including defining project work scope and schedule requirements.
  • Familiarize with international project phases, engineering phases, bidding procedures, procurement processes, and construction requirements.
  • Thoroughly understand contract documents, project execution plans, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, and project schedules to assist project managers in achieving timely project completion.
  • Monitor and resolve daily contractor activities related to assigned projects during construction while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Participate in the development of Instrumentation and Process Control deliverables, including various diagrams and studies.
  • Provide design input for the identification, sizing, selection, and procurement of field instrumentation.
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests for Process Control Systems and address any technical issues prior to shipment.
  • Conduct Site Acceptance Tests and Integration Site Acceptance Tests for all Process Control Systems and resolve arising technical issues.
  • Define change order scopes, estimate costs, and assist in the change management process.
  • Review project status reports, including costs and schedules, and participate in project meetings.
  • Coordinate and monitor project progress, addressing any performance issues with contractors.
  • Review and monitor invoices and contractor submissions.
  • Conduct project reporting and implement company initiatives during project execution.
  • Review design modifications related to Instrumentation and Process Control.
  • Provide ongoing support for Instrumentation and Process Control during facility operations.
  • Develop and review testing and commissioning procedures for Instrumentation and Process Control equipment.
  • Maintain familiarity with leading equipment manufacturers, international standards, and value improvement practices.
  • Uphold engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional conduct.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: B.S. in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering; a higher degree is preferred.
  2. Experience: A minimum of fifteen years in the refining and petrochemical industries, with a focus on Instrumentation and Process Control.
  3. Field Experience: At least five years of field experience in construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operations.
  4. Language Skills: Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  5. Other Requirements: Must possess Engineering Design and Construction phase experience, with a solid understanding of engineering practices and economic principles.
  6. Other Requirements: A dynamic approach to project improvements and savings; PMP Certification is desirable but not mandatory.
  7. Other Requirements: Flexibility to work in diverse teams and adapt to various locations as necessary.
