About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled biologist to enhance our growing Central Nervous System (CNS) in vivo research team at our San Diego facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the discovery and development of novel drug targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vivo experiments and ex vivo analyses to support drug discovery initiatives across multiple disease models.
- Develop and establish new preclinical animal disease models.
- Perform behavioral studies on animals as required.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments and with external partners to ensure effective study execution and data collection.
- Review and integrate relevant scientific literature to inform project strategies and resolve challenges.
- Communicate research outcomes to project teams and prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
- Maintain high productivity levels in the laboratory and execute critical experimental procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a biology-related discipline.
- Proven experience in handling small animal models.
- Experience in sample and tissue collection methodologies.
- Strong record-keeping skills and proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and presentation.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and resilience in problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-driven team player capable of thriving in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CNS surgical techniques and/or local drug administration in the CNS.
- Familiarity with animal dosing and surgical procedures.
- Experience in developing preclinical disease models within the context of drug discovery.
