New-to-Practice Stepdown Registered Nurse

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Stepdown Unit. As a New-to-Practice Stepdown Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate nursing care to patients in the Stepdown Unit, ensuring a safe and effective treatment plan is in place.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' clinical conditions and psychosocial needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
- Administer medications and treatments in a safe and timely manner, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Current RN license in the state of employment or compact state.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (must be obtained prior to direct patient care).
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (preferred).
- Previous experience as an LPN or Patient Care Tech/CNA (preferred).
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred).
The New-to-Practice Stepdown Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. The role may require exposure to physical altercations and verbal abuse, as well as the use of physical restraints. The nurse will also be required to work with hazardous substances or body fluids and may be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
Physical RequirementsThe New-to-Practice Stepdown Registered Nurse will be required to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and carrying patients, pushing and pulling equipment, and standing for extended periods. The nurse will also be required to use manual dexterity, perform shift work, and maneuver the weight of patients.
