Career Education Coordinator

South Dakota State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Education Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Career Development, you will play a vital role in guiding undergraduate and graduate students toward successful careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide career coaching and guidance to students, helping them explore career options and develop professional skills.
  • Assist students in creating career plans, including resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement career development programs and services.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of career development programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to provide students with internship and job opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in career advising, academic advising, or a related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and career development software.
