Position Title: CNC Machine Operator (Lathe, Mill, Swiss)

We provide 1st shift opportunities; Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, along with a competitive salary, a collaborative work environment, and an excellent location.

General Overview: In this role, you will be tasked with operating and configuring CNC machines. You may also be required to perform setups and operations on CNC Lathe, Swiss, and Mill machines, as well as other machining tools as necessary. Utilize your knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures to produce high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze drawings and specifications for specific products and strategize the production process, including determining cutting methods, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and outlining the sequence of operations.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cycle times and improve setup efficiency.
  • Execute machining operations, monitor production processes for issues, and verify the accuracy of finished products against specifications using calibrated measuring instruments.
  • Safely operate and maintain machinery as required.
  • Conduct quality inspections across various tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace and machinery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Stay updated on machining technologies by acquiring new skills and learning to operate new machinery.
  • Collaborate effectively within the machine shop and with production and assembly teams.
  • Ability to monitor multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Assist machine operators with troubleshooting and adjustments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Logical and efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with high ethical standards, particularly in handling safety-critical products.
  • Work within precise accuracy standards.
  • Adapt to shifting departmental priorities and adjust to changes in work schedules, personnel, and equipment to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments.
  • Proficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective time management.

Experience and Background:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of metals and general materials.
  • Familiarity with specifications and technical writing.
  • Understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capability to manage projects and work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential.
