SUMMARY:

The Customer Service Team Leader plays a pivotal role in assisting the Store Leader by acting as the Leader on Duty (LOD). This position ensures that safety protocols, sales objectives, production standards, and service quality are consistently upheld. Collaboration with the Retail Administration team, People Resources, and Workforce Development is essential to align all activities with the mission, vision, and values of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes.

Key competencies for success in this role include: Customer Orientation, Interpersonal Abilities, Commitment to Self-Improvement, Effective Communication & Teamwork, Project Management, Urgency in Action, Business Insight, and Technical Proficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as Leader on Duty as per the schedule.

2. Ensure adherence to safe work practices at all times.

3. Maintain a tidy, organized facility to minimize risks of injury or accidents.

4. Oversee that employees, volunteers, and community service personnel utilize safe working methods consistently.

5. Assist in supervising daily cash drawer reconciliations and deposits of store receipts.

6. Monitor cash register operations to guarantee accountability for all transactions.

7. Balance cash and process store receipts as necessary.

8. Aid in the transmission of required reports.

9. Supervise all team members effectively.

10. Address customer concerns and resolve them appropriately.

11. Maintain the store's interior and exterior in a clean and organized manner.

12. Perform the duties of team members as staffing needs arise.

13. Encourage every customer to consider a Round-up donation, aiming for a minimum of 25% average.

14. Safeguard all company assets.

15. Assist the Store Manager in conducting employee meetings as needed.

16. Ensure that store equipment is in proper working condition and report any defects promptly.

17. Contribute to the store's overall effectiveness by performing additional tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Indirectly oversees store team members, volunteers, and community service personnel in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To succeed in this role, an individual must demonstrate proficiency in the competencies required for the position and perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodations. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. An Associate's degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of retail experience, including at least six months in a supervisory role, is necessary.
