Community Development Mortgage Loan Officer

As a Community Development Mortgage Loan Officer at Cambridge Financial, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and community development initiatives. This position requires a unique blend of sales, marketing, and community outreach skills, with a focus on originating and selling residential mortgage products and Home Equity products.
Key Responsibilities- Originate high-quality loans that meet Cambridge Financial's guidelines while maintaining compliance.
- Solicit customers by developing relationships and gaining trust with real estate professionals, builders, local housing agencies, and other business referral sources.
- Determine and recommend appropriate loan products to meet the customer's needs, promoting and cross-selling Bank products and services as appropriate.
- Meet established loan production goals, service existing mortgage customers, and consistently deliver superior experiences to all Cambridge Financial customers.
- Participate in networking and community involvement activities, conduct outreach to community housing organizations and their members, as well as other organizations through a range of forums, events, training sessions, and webinars.
- Research, recommend, and support managing onsite and offsite community/volunteer events.
- Seek out, review, and recommend nonprofit partnerships that advance opportunities to scale minority or LMI borrower homeownership.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
- Develop familiarity with local neighborhoods and history, as well as other CRA markets and potential expansion markets, learn housing and community development issues, public housing subsidy programs, and city government of the respective communities, particularly the underserved markets.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent or 15 years of mortgage banking experience.
- 2+ years experience in outside mortgage banking sales, with knowledge of mortgage financing and mortgage programs.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; candidates must be able to effectively communicate and comprehend written and verbal information in both languages.
- Understanding of secondary market underwriting guidelines, P.M.I, and condominium standards.
- Successfully register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet established goals, interact with customers effectively, and work without direct supervision.
- Must be able to travel across Massachusetts.
- Candidate should have an intimate knowledge of Low to Moderate Income or 'First-Time Homebuyer' loan programs available in Massachusetts.
- Knowledge of various grant programs and down-payment assistance programs available in the community is a plus.
- Previous experience in community development and underserved markets is a plus.
- Ability to establish new relationships inside the community with Realtors, Attorneys, Community Development Corporations as well as networking through local Chamber of Commerce, Realtor Associations, and other non-profit organizations will be required to be successful.
