Job Summary

As the Environmental Health Manager for Dallas County, you will be responsible for overseeing the County's Environmental Health Program, ensuring the detection, prevention, and control of disease outbreaks within the county and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage administrative and technical activities of the Environmental Health Program
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise to contracting cities, other health agencies, private citizens, and industry
  • Oversee the work of staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
  • Coordinate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective program implementation
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science
  • Five years of professional experience in environmental health or a related field
  • Registered Professional Sanitarian certification
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
Working Conditions

The Environmental Health Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to various work sites. The ability to walk rough terrain and travel to different locations is required.
