Product Development Strategist

WCF Insurance seeks a seasoned Senior Product Development Manager to spearhead product line strategy and drive implementation of enhancements. As a key member of the product team, this individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and execute product development plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement product line strategies in alignment with business objectives, working closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
- Product Enhancements: Direct the development and implementation of product enhancements, including rating algorithms, policy language, back-end system, and front-end system changes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Product Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on product features and benefits, providing guidance to internal and external audiences, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of industry trends and competitor products.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on market needs, emerging issues, and competitor products to inform product development decisions and ensure competitiveness.
- Team Leadership: Lead product analysts and managers, fostering high morale and technical competency within the team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage rate, form, rule regulatory filings and maintain good working relationships with regulators.
- Communication: Communicate product changes to other departments and assist with product training, ensuring seamless integration across teams.
- Documentation: Design and maintain procedure and product documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinate or provide guidance on quality assurance and process improvement efforts.
- Reporting: Prepare and present various reports and publications on product features and issues.
- Relationships: Maintain strong, positive working relationships with other departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and/or CPCU designation preferred.
- At least six years of insurance product management, product development, or underwriting experience.
- Deep understanding of commercial property and liability coverage forms, endorsements, manuals, and pricing structures.
- Ability to comprehend, draft, and communicate intent of contract language, as well as interpret inter-relationships of coverages across contracts.
- Ability to comprehend, create, and communicate intent of insurance rating algorithms and other pricing structures.
- Experience with rate, form, rule regulatory filings.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Three years or more of supervisory or people management experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under deadlines in a changing environment with capability to perform multiple tasks effectively.

We offer an attractive compensation package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, 401K with a generous employer match, and additional benefits like an Employee Assistance Program and time off to volunteer. All employees earn four weeks of vacation their first year. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$137,000, depending on location, education, and experience.
