About the Role

WCF Insurance, a leading insurance carrier in the western U.S., is seeking an experienced Senior Product Development Manager to join its team. This role offers a rare opportunity to drive business growth and innovation while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned product leader with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful product strategies. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and experience in supervising teams.

Responsibilities

  • Product Line Strategy: Establish and implement product line strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Product Enhancements: Direct implementation of product enhancements, including rating algorithms, policy language, back-end system, and front-end system changes.
  • Expertise and Communication: Serve as a product line expert, maintain thorough knowledge of product features and benefits, and provide product expertise to various internal and external audiences.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on legal issues, competitor products, market needs, and emerging issues to ensure competitiveness and legal compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead product analysts and managers aiming for high morale and technical competency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage rate, form, rule regulatory filings and maintain good working relationships with regulators.
  • Communication and Training: Communicate product changes to other departments and assist with product training.
  • Procedure and Documentation: Design and maintain procedure and product documentation.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Coordinate or provide guidance on the quality assurance and process improvement efforts.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare/present various reports/publication over product features and issues.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and/or CPCU designation preferred.
  • At least six years of insurance product management, product development, or underwriting experience.
  • Deep understanding of commercial property and liability coverage forms, endorsements, manuals, and pricing structures.
  • Ability to comprehend, draft, and communicate intent of contract language as well as interpret inter-relationships of coverages across contracts.
  • Ability to comprehend, create and communicate intent of insurance rating algorithms and other pricing structures.
  • Experience with rate, form, rule regulatory filings.
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Three years or more of supervisory or people management experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Works well under deadlines in a changing environment with capability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
