Inventory Management Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Coordinator to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. This is a full-time position responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise across our warehouses.
About the Role
This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless inventory management operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for unloading, inspecting, and storing merchandise; verifying shipment receipts and documenting any discrepancies; and accurately recording inventory levels in our system.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating delivery vehicles in compliance with UHD standards
- Delivering a wide variety of items, including surplus equipment and furniture, on a case-by-case basis
- Communicating professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers
- Maintaining current knowledge of all areas of responsibility
- Providing excellent customer service
- FOLLOWING DELIVERY DRIVING ROUTES AND TIME SCHEDULES
- Maintaining delivery logs and records
- Transporting dining unit invoices, assets, and transfers to UHD transportation hub
- Receiving deliveries of all merchandise
- Unpacking, identifying, and checking goods for conformity with original order
- Storing items in the proper storage areas
- Inspecting for expiration dates, product quality, and damages
- Ensuring proper labeling and storage of products, following first-in-first-out (FIFO) guidelines
- Preparing outgoing shipments by crating, packing, labeling, and arranging for delivery
- Completing weekly inventories
- Providing routine clerical and manual work in receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and other supplies
- Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing, and issuing supplies and maintaining stock records and preparing reports
- May make minor repairs to equipment
- May assemble stock items shipped
- Operating and inspecting forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery vans, trucks, and dollies to ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment
- Adhering to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance and UHD/UT trainings and compliance
- Completing and maintaining required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety
- Following work safety guidelines and utilizing proper PPE as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Estimated salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management or a related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
