Job Summary:

Actalent is seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, working closely with pathologists and other laboratory personnel to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and embed tissue specimens for histological examination.
• Perform microtomy and produce high-quality tissue sections.
• Stain tissue samples using various histological techniques.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in histological procedures.
• Document and maintain accurate records of all laboratory processes.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Histotechnology or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of histological techniques and laboratory procedures.

Work Environment:

• Working within a lab setting handling high volume samples. Hours are Monday - Friday, 2am - 10am.
