About the Role:

The Surgical Technologist PRN position at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the nursing care of patients under the supervision of an OR Registered Nurse
  • Function as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite
  • Set up the sterile surgical field using aseptic technique, utilizing knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and the physician's preferences for surgical instrumentation
  • Assist the circulating Registered Nurse with operating room set up, equipment, and positioning of the surgical patient as well as break down of instrument table
  • Perform supply management duties

Requirements:

  • Surgical Technology Program graduate or equivalent training
  • Certified Surgical Technologist and Licensed with the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician (preferred)
