CNC Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Tague Lumber. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery to perform a variety of functions, including drilling, grinding, and milling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the correct function.
• Read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings to understand specifications and desired results.
• Translate instructions into computer commands to ensure accurate machine operation.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines, and conduct test runs to verify output quality.
• Supervise machine operation, making adjustments as needed to achieve optimal results.
• Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform daily maintenance on machinery to ensure functionality and efficiency.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience as a CNC operator in a custom woodworking shop.
• Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and tooling, as well as precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
• Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
• Good communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship is required.
