Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Friends of Youth. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will provide clinical counseling services to youth and families, including mental health assessments, therapy sessions, and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and services to youth and their families.
  • Administer mental health assessments and provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Provide crisis interventions to clients as needed.
  • Maintain direct service hours at 60% of total weekly work hours.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions in accordance with the most recently published DSM, as needed.
  • Provide clinical groups focused on various topics.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly/bi-weekly individual meetings with supervisor to review cases.
  • Participate in staff case consultations and department meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of other Friends of Youth departments and internal resources.
  • Improve knowledge about current best practices for various diagnoses and mental health concerns through research.
  • Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, COA, Medicaid, and King County requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of school district policies related to crisis intervention, fire drills, etc.
  • Attend school meetings (i.e., student of concern) as necessary.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in a human service field.
  • Licensed with the State of Washington as an LICSW/LSWAIC, LMHC/A, or LMFT/A.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with children, youth, and/or families.
  • Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check, including fingerprints.
  • Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid Washington State driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (no exemption or waivers).
