About the Role:

As a CBRE Data Center Technical Manager, you will be responsible for delivering technical services to global data center clients. Your primary focus will be on pricing, delivery, and scope of vendor maintenance contracts, as well as developing market-leading processes and critical operations documentation.

Key responsibilities include delivering technical service support to business to maintain 100% uptime and achieve account plans, ensuring all technical services meet client SLAs. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers to create and maintain CBRE Critical Environment technical operational processes and procedures for each location, aligning with contractual requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities, developing operating and capital budgets.
  • Drive the acquisition of new management contracts and facilitate the development of as-built drawings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis, creating and maintaining effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Provide technical support during incidents and for client projects, reviewing, commenting, and approving High Risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide.
  • Provide strategic and operational support on process/standards across the Global portfolio, continually evaluating technical operational processes and procedures with the team for continual improvement.
  • Support the management, production, and ongoing use of asset management plans for each client location, ensuring healthy and safe working conditions and effective implementation of client and company health and safety policies and processes.
  • Ensure all sites conform to necessary legislations and statutory compliances, presenting critical facility program and audit results and performance to CBRE and client senior management.
  • Audit processes and procedures, performing audits on the PPM system, PPM reporting, statutory files, and identifying any gaps and risks associated, ensuring plans are in place to close these issues.
  • Oversee the development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation and site drawings, supporting critical facilities commissioning standards within accounts.

  • Ensure all 3rd party scope, works, and performance are in line with client contract requirements, audits, and evaluations, and are completed and recorded.
  • Target cost-saving initiatives while maintaining a high level of contract support, assisting sales and marketing in the development and preparation of expansion and renewal proposals.
  • Coordinate the performance of raised floor performance evaluations, including technical environmental audits, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Provide support and training for onsite engineering Managers/Supervisors, delivering manager employee training programs relating to new and existing processes to improve awareness.
  • Work with Technical Leads to develop, track, and maintain procedures and policies, managing technical library content and structure globally.
  • Execute operational and performance risk assessments, applying a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, influencing others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity, understanding and recognizing the broader impact across the department.
  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred with 8 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
  • 10 years of experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of redundancy levels and relation to operational risk, mechanical and electrical distribution system support, and equipment function.
  • Knowledge of procedures and customer requirements in critical facilities, understanding the relationship of technical strategies within a critical facility environment.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
