About the Role

The Technical Writer is a key member of our team, responsible for creating high-quality, user-friendly documentation that supports our business goals. This includes developing and maintaining internal documentation, such as user reference manuals, procedures, and instructional materials.

As a Technical Writer, you will work closely with leadership and front-line staff to gather, assess, and confirm interpretation of new or changing business practices. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to create materials that are consistent with and in support of bank goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Create and redesign user reference manuals, procedures, and other instructional materials consistent with new or changing business practices, regulatory, compliance, and legal changes.
  • Write consistent, concise, easy-to-understand, plain language instructional and user reference materials intended for new hire and experienced audiences.
  • Strategically team up with subject matter experts and leaders across the business to design, develop, implement and evaluate performance solutions.
  • Research industry methodologies and best practices integrating those into professional practice.
  • Use sound judgement in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Facilitate and lead ongoing discussions to maintain relevancy of materials and ensure business needs and deliverables are met with timely support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Journalism, English, Communications, Business Management, or equivalent related business experience.
  • 5 years' experience in technical writing, software documentation, and editing required; or 5 years' experience in retail banking management or financial services required.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of process orientation.
  • Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the latest Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, etc.)
