We are seeking a highly skilled Blood Cancer Specialist to join our team at Duke Health. As a clinician/educator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the education and development of future healthcare professionals.

About the Role

As a Blood Cancer Specialist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with blood cancers. You will be responsible for managing patient care, conducting research, and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in hematology and/or oncology, with a strong focus on lymphoma. Board certification in Hematology and/or Oncology is required.

This is a faculty appointment position, commensurate with academic achievement and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of Duke University, including clinical research, education, and service.

Job Description

The Blood Cancer Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive care to patients with blood cancers, including outpatient clinic visits and inpatient rounding
  • Conducting clinical research and publishing papers in reputable journals
  • Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Participating in tumor boards and disease-specific conferences

The successful candidate will also have opportunities to contribute to the development of new clinical trials and protocols, as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Board certification in Hematology and/or Oncology
  • 3+ years of experience in hematology and/or oncology, with a strong focus on lymphoma
  • A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
