Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Financial Reporting and Budgeting: Support the Corporate Controller in managing the company's financial reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed reports on financial performance.
  • Cash Management: Assist in cash management activities, including forecasting and monitoring cash flow.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings.
  • Financial Insights: Collaborate with property managers and department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Audit Support: Participate in audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Team Management: Support the Corporate Controller in managing and developing the accounting team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with intercompany accounting, cash management, and tax compliance is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
