Assignments are received as objectives, and the individual is responsible for setting and achieving these goals. Recommendations for policy modifications are also part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing revenue and inventory management strategies, including forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Driving initiatives for continuous improvement to reduce inventory costs while ensuring effective management reporting.
  • Overseeing site purchasing operations, ensuring customer commitments are met, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Managing warehouse operations and material handling across all business units, ensuring security and efficiency in processes.
  • Leading the import logistics team, including carrier contract negotiations and customs clearance processes.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external carriers, customs brokers, and third-party warehouses, focusing on quality and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with all customs regulations and laws.
  • Collaborating on global customs and traffic issues, identifying cost-saving opportunities across sites.
  • Overseeing case packing, shipping operations, and ensuring compliance with export customs regulations.
  • Managing the export process for the Celestica HUB.
  • Directing the design, development, integration, and maintenance of supply chain management systems and training.
  • Providing guidance to business units to achieve financial inventory objectives.
  • Responsible for annual physical inventory and the process for surplus and scrap material disposition.
  • Overseeing multiple departments, including Material Master, Dock Operations, Traffic, Distribution, and Warehouse.
  • May include responsibilities for Inside Sales, focusing on customer service and order management.
  • Responsible for employee training, performance evaluation, development, and recognition.
  • Fostering continuous improvements in the supply chain management function through collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services.
  • Strong understanding of the global business landscape and customer needs.
  • Familiarity with IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics management.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in a standard office setting.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and focused visual concentration on computer screens.
  • Frequent manual tasks such as data entry and use of office equipment.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires seven to ten years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
