Job Title:
Housing Clerk
Range: 19 Department: Public Housing
This role is not eligible for remote work.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Support the effective management of assigned housing projects.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Directly accountable to the Housing Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Gather and compile data to create reports for ongoing and upcoming initiatives.
2. Process tenant rent payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
3. Update tenant accounts with correct rent information for new leases, rent adjustments, and maintenance fees.
4. Issue notifications for overdue accounts.
5. Assist emergency responders and tenants during critical situations.
6. Review and update computer-generated reports and maintain tenant documentation.
7. Manage the waiting list and facilitate unit viewings for potential residents, handle lease agreements, and process move-outs.
8. Create work orders and keep an updated log of all requests.
9. Conduct tenant applications and re-evaluations, notify residents about inspections, and send necessary communications.
10. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work conditions may be demanding due to high workload volume.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage positively with the public and Authority staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Compliance with Authority attendance standards.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Proficient office skills and familiarity with basic computer operations.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capability to read and write correspondence, review ledgers, and work with computerized documents and plans.
- Ability to access all areas of assigned buildings and units.
- Effective communication skills in person and over the phone.
- Physical agility and coordination for extensive file management. All physical capabilities are assessed based on the ability to perform tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations under the ADA.
