Cybersecurity Internship Opportunity

Ameritas is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cybersecurity Intern. This role will provide the opportunity to drive the business by delivering IT security services or functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Enterprise Security in various areas of responsibility, including Security Engineering, Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, and Risk Management.
  • Manage, maintain, and monitor the organization's security tooling.
  • Analyze and implement security controls in various environments.
  • Identify, assess, report on, and manage vulnerabilities across the organization.
  • Prepare reports that document vulnerability trends within the organization.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents.
  • Analyze logs and other data sources to identify potential threats.
  • Automate security improvements.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks.
  • Monitor and respond to security requests.

Requirements:

  • Actively enrolled in an Information Technology or Information Security degree program at least part-time.
  • Able to fulfill a year-round commitment - part-time (PT) during the academic school year and full-time (FT) during the summer.
  • PT includes 10-20 hours a week.
  • FT includes 30-40 hours a week.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Desire to learn and grow.
  • Effective documentation skill for process and standard development.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages strongly desired.
