Project Engineer Job Description

Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Global Instrumentation and Controls (GIC) team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of our Setpoints & Control Systems (SCS) and Integrated Systems Engineering (ISE) projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive functional area completion of required scope to support plant operations
  • Manage and drive the schedule and cost
  • Develop and implement accurate demand signals to functional areas and work with Resource Managers to resource load the schedule
  • Identify and mitigate risks and challenges within functional areas and drive solution-oriented thinking
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans
  • Lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Energy Systems Project Manager
  • Represent discipline in the Product Development Review Meeting (PDRM)
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineer, Nuclear Engineer, Electrical Engineer, etc)
  • Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300 preferred
  • Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 10% for peak times)
  • Cognizance in at least one of the following technical areas: Integrated systems Engineering, Control Systems and Setpoints
  • Command of responsible subject matter as well as the product application life cycle and design process for the assigned subject matter area
  • Knowledge of project management principles and a strong desire to work in a newly defined technical project management role
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Ability to establish effective networks across various functional areas within GIC, Energy Systems, GECS and GSCM
