Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced occupational therapy assistant program director to join our team at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching a variety of courses in the occupational therapy assistant program, as well as coordinating department activities such as curriculum development, monitoring budgets, and course scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach a variety of courses in the occupational therapy assistant program
  • Coordinate department activities such as curriculum development, monitoring budgets, and course scheduling
  • Generate appropriate reports to maintain ACOTE accreditation
  • Advise students on educational and career planning
  • Teach productive and constructive work habits, study skills, and core skills
  • Develop and maintain classroom and lab procedures
  • Use current college learning management and data reporting systems
  • Communicate expectations and establish clear grading criteria
  • Pursue appropriate professional development activities
  • Develop and maintain industry and community support for occupational therapy programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Five or more years of clinical work experience as an OT or OTA, including clinical teaching
  • Current license to practice as an OT or OTA in WA State or ability to attain same within 30 days of initial employment
  • Experience and expertise in physical disabilities, brain injury rehabilitation, orthopedic conditions, functional movement and kinesiology, adapted technology, and therapeutic activities
  • Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Knowledge of OTA accreditation guidelines
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a professional-technical certificate to teach in the technical area
