POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electromechanical Assembler is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and written instructions to construct sub-assemblies and final products. This role involves soldering, riveting, screwing, gluing, or press-fitting components, as well as connecting and soldering lead wires to printed circuit boards or panels.
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in performing essential tasks and possess experience in a manufacturing setting, adhering to detailed instructions.
SUPERVISION:
Receives direct oversight from the Team Lead and indirect guidance from the Department Manager. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, diagrams, and written or verbal instructions.
- Assemble internal electrical and mechanical components in accordance with schematics to ensure proper functionality.
- Utilize various methods such as soldering, riveting, and press-fitting to secure components.
- Connect and solder lead wires between components and printed circuit boards or panels.
- Construct cables, harnesses, and significant sub-assemblies.
- Perform drilling, cutting, and fastening of components.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on products and components.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
- Collaborate with supervisors to plan and review work activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in electromechanical assembly.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Experience in a production environment is preferred.
- Must demonstrate efficiency and care to avoid damage to items.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills are essential.
- Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers for various tasks.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Capable of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, or kneel as necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
