Job Title:

Director of Chronic Pain Management

Job Summary:

The Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children's is seeking an experienced pediatric anesthesiologist to lead the Division of Chronic Pain Management. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership and direction for the division, overseeing clinical operations, collaborative research, and faculty development.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive pain management strategies for pediatric patients, including multimodal analgesia, interventional pain procedures, and non-pharmacological approaches.
  • Drive clinical innovation and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Engage in outreach and advocacy efforts to raise awareness of pediatric chronic pain and promote best practices in pain management.
  • Collaborate with the Vice Chief for Pain, Equity and Innovation; Surgical Pain and Regional Anesthesia; and Palliative Pain Management Division Directors.
Requirements:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Active unrestricted medical license.
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesia.
  • Board-certified pain specialist trained in pediatric pain.
  • Substantial clinical experience in pediatric chronic pain management, with a strong track record of leadership in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Eligible for faculty appointment aligning with qualifications and experience.
  • Proven mentoring and teaching record.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated involvement in national or international pediatric pain organizations or societies.
  • Experience in program development, including establishing new clinical services or expanding existing programs.
