About the Role:

Confluent is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition to lead our Engineering and Product recruiting teams. This strategic role will be responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies that attract top-tier talent, aligning closely with the business needs of our Engineering and Product functions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in technical recruiting, operational rigor, and managing multiple hiring models, while fostering a culture of partnership and driving continuous improvement in talent acquisition processes.

This position reports to the Director of AMER Talent Acquisition and offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our Engineering and Product teams by attracting world-class talent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of recruiters focused on Engineering and Product talent acquisition, ensuring hiring targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that align with business goals, partnering closely with Engineering and Product leadership to understand workforce needs
  • Foster a consultative approach with business stakeholders while developing a team of strategic recruiting partners
  • Drive operational rigor and excellence in candidate sourcing, assessment, and selection processes, focusing on process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Champion diversity hiring initiatives, working to create and implement strategies that attract a diverse pool of candidates and promote an inclusive hiring environment
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition leadership team to ensure consistency in processes and alignment on company-wide talent goals
  • Leverage data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to leadership, improving recruitment outcomes and hiring decisions
  • Manage and develop the recruitment team, providing mentorship, guidance, performance management, and professional development opportunities to ensure their success
  • Stay informed of industry trends, innovative recruitment practices, and market data to continuously evolve our talent acquisition approach
  • Partner closely with talent sourcing, operations, and coordination to drive a comprehensive and holistic hiring process
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in technical recruiting, with a deep understanding of engineering and technical talent markets
  • 5+ years of experience managing people, including leading and developing high-performing teams with a demonstrated track record of performance management and career development of team members
  • Proven experience leading multiple different hiring models (e.g., events hiring, hiring committee, debrief model, etc.) and adapting strategies based on business needs
  • Strong track record of driving operational rigor and excellence in recruitment processes
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to influence stakeholders and drive decision-making
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams with a focus on coaching, development, and driving results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong partnerships
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring
  • Proficiency in recruitment technologies and platforms, with the ability to leverage data for decision-making
  • Experience leading hiring efforts in Canada and the United States

  • Experience in ATS implementation and migration
  • Experience with recruitment automation or AI tools to optimize the hiring process
  • Experience using tools such as Tableau, Workday, GitHub
  • Experience leading hiring efforts across Latin America as well as North America
