CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description

**Job Summary**

Precision Castparts Corp is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for operating 3-5 axis CNC machine cells and standalone machines, ensuring high-quality production and meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate 3-5 axis CNC machine cells and standalone machines, maintaining optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Set up and prepare fixtures and cutting tools, ensuring accurate and precise machining.
  • Load and adjust CNC programs and offsets, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
  • Conduct quality inspections using height and air gauges and bench inspection techniques, ensuring compliance with dimensional specifications.
  • Read and interpret prints, applying dimensional specifications to inspection processes.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with lathe machines, with a strong foundation in machine setup and operation.
  • Ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
  • Working knowledge of G and M codes applied in setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs.
  • Working knowledge of shop math, including tool geometry, positive and negative numbers, and basic geometry.
