Drafting Specialist

Job Summary:

A Drafting Specialist at HK Composites is responsible for collaborating with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements, calculating dimensions and material specifications, and creating detailed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our technical plans with regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting commercial projects with AutoCAD Architecture
Working with structural engineers to complete projects
Calculating dimensions and material specifications
Maintaining existing clients
Identifying potential operational issues and redesigning products to improve functionality
Ensuring final designs comply with regulations and quality standards and meet customer needs and deadlines
Collaborating with CNC operators and production team managers to answer questions

Work Environment:

This is an inside average office environment with average office noise levels. Ambient temperature ranges between 68°F and 76°F. Safety Glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection are required while performing specific tasks in and around the plant. Occasional exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
