Respiratory Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist Assistant to join our team at Children's Hospital Colorado. As a Respiratory Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our respiratory therapy team.
Job Summary:The Respiratory Therapist Assistant will assist respiratory therapists in providing respiratory care to patients, including performing basic respiratory therapy procedures, setting up and maintaining equipment, and providing education to patients and families. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities:- Assist respiratory therapists in providing respiratory care to patients, including performing basic respiratory therapy procedures.
- Set up and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, and other respiratory care equipment.
- Provide education to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Assist with patient transports and transfers.
- Participate in departmental committees and projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrolled in final year of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, and use of hands while keyboarding and writing. The employee may be required to lift or force exerted up to 35 pounds. The employee will be exposed to blood/body fluid, infectious diseases, and lung irritations on a regular basis.
