Respiratory Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist Assistant to join our team at Children's Hospital Colorado. As a Respiratory Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our respiratory therapy team.
Job Summary:The Respiratory Therapist Assistant will assist Respiratory Therapists in providing basic respiratory care to patients, including airway clearance techniques, home oxygen set-up, and assisting with transports. This role will also involve performing pre-use testing, set up, disassembly, cleaning, reprocessing, and basic maintenance for various respiratory care equipment and oxygen delivery devices.
Responsibilities:- Assist Respiratory Therapists in providing basic respiratory care to patients, including airway clearance techniques, home oxygen set-up, and assisting with transports.
- Perform pre-use testing, set up, disassembly, cleaning, reprocessing, and basic maintenance for various respiratory care equipment and oxygen delivery devices.
- Participate in departmental committees and/or projects as assigned.
- Follow departmental or organizational practices and procedures that minimize risk of harm to patients, foster communication, support effective teamwork, and ensure system effectiveness.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrolled in final year of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
