Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Surgical Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, managing patient records, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling patient appointments for hospital outpatient-based services
  • Changing and canceling appointments as needed
  • Providing accurate and detailed information to patients regarding test results and scheduling needs
  • Supporting checkout at Gastroenterology's ambulatory office
  • Answering incoming calls and directing calls to the correct party
  • Checking voicemails and returning missed calls for scheduling requests
  • Managing the integrity of pre-registration, including accurate healthcare coverage
  • Escalating operational, provider, or patient complaints to leadership
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a medical or office setting
  • Outstanding organizational skills and typing speed of 35-45 WPM
  • Medical transcription skills required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
