Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Accounting Manager to join our team at Thomas V Stephen & Co., PC. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will provide the opportunity to utilize your tax expertise while working in a collaborative environment.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The Senior Tax Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the preparation of multiple tax returns, including HOA, Partnership, Individual Corporate, Franchise and Not for profit returns. This position will also involve training staff accountants in all types of tax preparation as necessary and reviewing tax returns prepared by staff accountants.

In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the controller to handle IRS exams and conduct tax research to assign tax calculations to clients. The Senior Tax Accounting Manager will also meet with and advise clients on tax planning and compliance, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest tax regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or taxation required;
  • CPA not required but a plus;
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Public Tax and Accounting;
  • Strong leadership and client relationship skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to meet deadlines and engagement time budgets;
  • Proficient in software such as UltraTax, File In Time, Microsoft Office Applications, Pro-Systems engagement, CCH, Quickbooks and Peachtree.
