Career Opportunity: Housing Stability Navigator

Are you passionate about empowering young adults to achieve housing stability and independence? Do you have personal experience navigating the challenges of homelessness or housing instability?

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Stability Navigator to join our team at Cocoon House. As a Housing Stability Navigator, you will work closely with program participants, building trust and relationships to help them overcome barriers to stable housing.

This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) located on-site. We offer a competitive hourly wage ($19-$20/hour DOE), plus an additional $1.50/hour pay differential for bilingual skills with additional paperwork.

About the Role:
  • Act as a trusted advocate and point of contact for program participants, providing regular check-ins and support.
  • Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement individualized plans that address housing stability, employment, education, and other critical needs.
  • Help program participants navigate the complexities of attaining and maintaining housing stability, including accessing resources, managing finances, and developing life skills.
  • Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment by fostering positive relationships and promoting healthy communication among program participants.
Requirements:
  • First-hand experience with the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • Knowledge of relevant systems and programs, such as shelters, transitional housing, foster care, and behavioral health services.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with a strong ability to empathize with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Professional competence, including organizational skills, time management, and adaptability.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and run up/down stairs in emergency situations.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly wage: $19-$20/hour DOE
  • Bilingual pay stipend: +$1.50/hour
