Cocoon House is a leading organization in Snohomish County dedicated to empowering young people, families, and communities to break the cycle of homelessness. As a Youth Housing Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in our care.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, youth, and external partners. They will be responsible for providing life skills, social skills, and other enrichment activities at our Youth Housing Programs in Everett and Monroe.

The Youth Housing Support Coordinator position requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as a passion for working with diverse populations. This is an exciting opportunity to grow in leadership skills while contributing to the stability of our housing department, its youth, and staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call support during after-hours shifts, responding to youth emergencies and staff calls as needed.
  • Perform various duties, including but not limited to: assisting residents with needs, enforcing house guidelines, logging, pass-down, cleaning, transportation, and other concerns.
  • Engage with staff members to meet the needs of the youth, programs, and staff.
  • Maintain ongoing training requirements and engage youth using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Work with case management to ensure smooth transitions into and out of units.
  • Ensure files for residents are complete and contain necessary paperwork to meet grant and funding requirements.
  • Become familiar with licensing requirements and ensure proper standards are maintained.
  • Assess crisis situations and provide support to staff and youth while communicating with agency leadership as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 1 year minimum of experience working with youth.
  • DCYF background clearance.
  • Acceptable driver's abstract with no more than 2 violations within the last 3 years.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Estimated Salary: $24-$25 per hour, plus multilingual pay differential opportunities.
