Special Education Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs, helping them achieve academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Personalized Education Plans: Create and implement customized education programs for each student, taking into account their unique learning needs and abilities.
- Provide Direct Instruction and Support: Offer direct instruction and support in diverse educational settings, including classrooms, workshops, and one-on-one sessions.
- Adjust Teaching Methods: Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
- Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies to ensure students are meeting their learning goals.
- Collaborate with Professionals: Collaborate with a team of professionals, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement comprehensive education plans.
- Communicate with Parents: Regularly communicate with parents about student goals, progress, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of student progress and required documentation, including IEPs and progress reports.
- Participate in Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Certification: Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Experience: Experience working with students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and experience with IEP development.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Missouri Initial Professional Certificate in Special Education.
- Certification in Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical Disabilities or Severe Developmental Disabilities.
- Additional certifications as required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Assistive Technology: Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support students with special needs.
- Understanding of Behavior Intervention Plans: Understanding of behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral supports to promote student success.
- Training in Specialized Instructional Techniques: Training in specialized instructional techniques to support students with diverse learning needs.
