SUMMARY

The role involves guiding students in academic subjects aligned with the Tucson Unified School District curriculum.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- High School Diploma or G.E.D.

- An Associate's degree (or higher) or completion of two years (60 Semester-Hour credits) at an accredited institution.

- Alternatively, passing an AZ Department of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test.

- Documentation such as diploma, transcripts, or test results must be provided upon hiring.

- A minimum of two years of experience in teaching Reading and Math.

- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and interpret written and oral instructions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working as a teacher aide.

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

- Completion of an FBI fingerprint background check.

- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or evidence of MMR immunization.

- Employees assigned to specific sites working towards or holding NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accreditation must have or be pursuing ECE (Early Childhood Education) certification, which is required within two years of employment.

COMMENTS

- Effective for the SCHOOL YEAR.

- Classification: White Collar.

- Work Schedule: 0.5 FTE / 4 hours per day.

- Work Calendar: 9.5 months.

- Positions with less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

- Internal candidates will transfer at a rate consistent with their bargaining unit language.
