Patient Registration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Representative to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for patients, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities- Interview patients to obtain necessary information for registration and admission
- Verify insurance coverage and inform patients of any financial obligations
- Work collaboratively with healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient flow
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient inquiries
- Good typing and spelling skills
- Prior customer service experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Patient registration experience
- Knowledge of healthcare industry/insurance contracts
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Background check and live scan
- Legal right to work in the United States
- Vaccination policies
- Smoking and tobacco policy
- Drug-free environment
