Rhode Island Energy is seeking a highly skilled Natural Gas Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our gas scheduling and transportation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable transportation of natural gas to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Nomination and Scheduling: You will be responsible for nominating and scheduling natural gas flows on interstate pipelines, ensuring compliance with relevant Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations.
- Capacity Release and Imbalance Management: You will identify and post available transportation and storage capacity on interstate pipeline electronic bulletin boards, and actively reconcile and manage volume imbalances resulting from differences between nominated and confirmed volumes.
- Gas Scheduling and Trading: You will work closely with our gas trading team to identify opportunities to optimize our natural gas supply portfolio, and develop daily and monthly plans to maximize our upstream interstate pipeline transportation and storage contracts.
- Training and Development: You will provide training to other team members on gas scheduling and usage of internal and external electronic bulletin boards.
- Business Relationship Management: You will maintain strong business relationships with various counterparties to identify opportunities for the company.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of gas scheduling experience for a natural gas market participant, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to work with detailed natural gas price and gas contract data, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
