Sedgwick is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Claims Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving complex insurance claims in a fair and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations of insurance claims, gathering evidence and interviewing claimants and witnesses as needed.
- Examine claim forms and other records to determine insurance coverage and liability.
- Estimate costs of repair, replacement, or compensation, and prepare reports of findings.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and recommend litigation when necessary.
- Attend litigation hearings and revise case reserves to cover probable costs.
- Assist in preparing loss experience reports to help determine profitability and calculate adequate future rates.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a focus on insurance or a related field.
- Must have earned the IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing another professional insurance designation.
- Appropriate state adjuster license is required.
- Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
