Assembler - 3rd Shift Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team at Illinois Tool Works. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in the production process, ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and package Ramset products according to process specifications and coach's instructions.
  • Maintain machinery through basic preventive maintenance, lubrication, and other necessary tasks.
  • Perform quality checks according to MIIs and quality specifications sheets, tracking and documenting any issues.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly equipment in the assembly department.
  • Weigh count parts, place cartons into bulk shippers, seal, label, and place on skids.
  • Use various hand tools, such as pliers, screwdrivers, and wrenches, for machine adjustments and set-ups.
  • Follow all prescribed safety and housekeeping practices and procedures, identifying and tagging safety hazards on machinery and in the work area.
  • Participate in team events and meetings, working collaboratively with other team members.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours (7:30pm - 6:00am) Sunday - Wednesday with occasional overtime.
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience, including set up, operate, changeover, use of measurement tools, and knowledge of preventive maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to understand basic machinery and perform basic math (adding and subtraction).
  • Must be able to read blueprints/specification sheets and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to complete supplemental training (i.e. blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools).
  • Must have basic English communication skills (read, write, and speak).
