We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Designer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. As a key member of our roadway design team, you will work under the direction of project engineers and managers to deliver high-quality designs for various transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare plans and cost estimates for projects of varying complexity and size
- Design and develop roadway elements using local and national standards, including horizontal and vertical alignments, plan and profile, utility design, and streetscape improvements
- Produce detailed construction drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control of designs
- Collaborate with other disciplines and support services to deliver projects
- Identify and apply relevant codes, standards, and design requirements
- Supervise and mentor less experienced technical support personnel
- 5+ years of experience in roadway design
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Technical degree or certification in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D and Bluebeam
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines
- Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
