Job Summary:

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled Lighting Technician 2 to join our team in Augusta, GA. As a Lighting Technician 2, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components, as well as troubleshooting and repairing lighting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic lighting components.
  • Install and mount lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.
  • Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely.
  • Test lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures, using testing devices.
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning lighting systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Read contract drawings.
  • Troubleshoot EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be committed to excellence and generate high-quality work.
  • Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OHSAS 10 certification.
  • Any other relevant certifications (e.g., lift/aerial training).

Physical Abilities:

  • Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Have good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • See details at close range.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
